Team Fox Australia was created in 2011 as part of the collaboration between The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) and the Shake It Up Australia Foundation. The organisations are working together to leverage MJFF’s expertise in Parkinson’s drug development and to bring the Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI), a landmark clinical study seeking biomarkers of Parkinson’s disease, Down Under.
Like its U.S. counterpart, Team Fox Australia comprises volunteers who raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s on behalf of the Shake It Up Australia Foundation. However, all contributions supporting Team Fox Australia are directed exclusively toward research efforts in Australia.

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) launched Team Fox in
2006 as a way to support the thousands of individuals worldwide who have made it their personal mission to find ways to raise funds for Parkinson’s research.
Team Fox members have already raised an astounding $US13 million (and counting). Team Fox Australia hopes to achieve the same strong support from our family and followers here ‘down under’.
Team Fox Australia provides support to individuals who fundraise together as part of a team who are working together towards a common goal.
Team Fox Australia members inspire action in others by participating in a wide variety of activities — climb the world’s tallest mountains, run marathons, buildcars, host golf events and garden walks, set up silent auctions, throw large-scale dance parties – the opportunities are endless.
You can create your own event and make a difference — every dollar counts and
brings us closer to our global goal of curing Parkinson’s.
